I agree with most of what you say, in all your posts (yes, I read them, even if they are annoyingly long. :) sorry :DD)
But I have to disagree with this: "Speaking of conveniently in town, they came to follow some clue about the ridiculous boomerang wielding villain, but at no point did we see them investigate any clue or trail involving the boomerange, everything we saw Arrow do involved Barry's metahuman, and even that turned out to be irrelevant because they just had him locked up from one scene to the next. "
They solve that case. In the Arrow episode (Arrow vs. Flash Part two), which came out right next day after this episode. (It's good btw.) ;)
It was illogical though, that Oliver would be so reckless, letting everyone know he is in town, sitting in the bar and drinking coffee and letting the police know, that the arrow is there. It's not exactly a far stretch now, is it? But at the same time, he is going on about his secret identity needing to be so secret. Same thing with Barry's team. They know, Felicity is working with the Arrow, then the Arrow and Felicity show up and then she hangs out with Olli in public. So Cisco didn't catch that? He only had Olliver in a list of 150 people? Ha, sorry, but maybe he isn't as clever as they want us to think :DDD
spoiler (not really saying anything about the context, just my feels ;))
The episode was pretty embarrassing at the beginning but the ending scene was really cute and the end! OH. MY. GOD. He was standing there and I just thought "yes, please. Yes please....", then the camera turned and I just started dancing and chanting until my mom came in and asked what was going on :DDDD SOOO GOOD.
