Tracy Morgan in THE LAST O.G., watch trailer

TBS’s upcoming comedy The Last OG features Tracy Morgan, in his first major TV comedy role since 30 Rock, alongside Tiffany Haddish in a starring role as Morgan’s character’s ex.

TBS released the first full trailer for the series a few days ago, giving us a sense of how the show's main man, Tray, an ex-con, is adjusting to a gentrified Brooklyn and his sudden role as a father of two. By the looks of the clip, you'll find a cornucopia of emotions and story lines in the mix.

Morgan hasn't been in the game for a while because of his accident a while back, so a lot of people will be happy to see him acting.

"Morgan suffered a traumatic brain injury; his coma lasted eight days. His left femur was shattered, his ribs were cracked and, he says, every bone in his face was broken. At first, doctors weren't sure he'd live, much less get back to any semblance of his old self. "We really kind of thought he wasn't going to make it," says his then-fiancee, now-wife, Megan Wollover, 29, who would've been left alone to raise their now-two-year-old daughter, Maven. "We were praying and being hopeful, but we didn't know what to say to the public." The prognosis quickly improved. But then, Wollover adds, "everyone was more concerned with the brain injury – is he gonna be the same?"" (Rolling Stones)

Cedric the Entertainer co-stars as the head of the halfway house where Tray is staying, along with Taylor Mosby, Dante Hoagland, Allen Maldonado and Ryan Gaul. Jordan Peele executive produces the series alongside Morgan, Patterson, Eric Tannebaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Joel Zadak.

The launch was originally set for October 2017, but was delayed with the exit of showrunner/co-creator John Carcieri, who departed after production wrapped on Season 1 last fall. Previously, Carcieri was a writer on HBO's Eastbound and Down and Vice Principals. He also co-wrote the feature film The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter. He was replaced by new showrunner Saladin K. Patterson.

The Last O.G. debuts on TBS on April 3. Check out the new trailer below.
