Amazon Studios just gave the internet a new teaser. John Krasinski's (The Office, 13 Hours) new terrorist drama, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, opens with him smirking at a cute blonde and trying to impress her with self-deprecating humor. The series revolves around Ryan’s early days, as the up-and-coming CIA analyst is thrust into a dangerous field assignment that brings him face to face with ISIS, tackling timely current events within the context of the spy thriller series. By the looks of the teaser, released at New York Comic-Co, Jack Ryan might remind you of Homeland.

Official synopsis reads:

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan is a reinvention of the famed and lauded Tom Clancy hero, a character who has been portrayed in feature films by various Hollywood stars. The series follows an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time as he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that throws him into the center of a treacherous stratagem with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.

“They were completely open and honest,” Krasinski said of his visits there, describing Langley as “a very apolitical place” and the CIA investigators as essential to “making sure our freedoms are protected.”

“People who put their lives on the line so we can have New York Comic-Con,” Krasinski said about the agents, joking, but not. “Thank the CIA for New York Comic-Con.”

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, from Paramount Television and Skydance Television, will debut sometime next year, possibly summer, on Amazon Prime Video. The one-hour, eight-episode series stars Krasinski, Pierce (The Wire) as James Greer, and Cornish (Limitless) as Cathy Mueller. Exec producers are showrunner Cuse, Krasinski and Roland, who wrote the pilot based on a story he and Cuse developed.

The series also is executive produced by Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form and Dan Sackheim, as well as Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross, along with Mace Neufeld and co-executive producer Lindsey Springer.

The character has been played by the likes of Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin and Ben Affleck on the big screen.

Jack Ryan debuts on Amazon some time next year. Take a look at the teaser below.
