World, say hello to this new epic tale about justice, straight from the Amazon studios. The Tick just got its first full trailer for the upcoming first season and the blue superhero looks like a relatable fellow. Amazon Prime Video released the first look at its superhero live-action comedy series and part one of the first season will be available on Friday, August 25.

The trailer promises “an epic tale ripe with destiny, adventure, blood loss, and good against evil,” as the new Amazon original centers on Arthur Everest, an underdog accountant with zero powers. Upon learning his city is owned by a long-thought dead global super villain, he falls in league with a blue superhero, The Tick. The adventure is wrapped up in humor, as well as a fairly amount of action, give the circumstances.

English actor Peter Serafinowicz stars as The Tick, alongside the ensemble cast including Griffin Newman, Valorie Curry, Jackie Earle Haley, Yara Martinez, Brendan Hines, Scott Speiser, and Michael Cerveris. Creator and executive producer Ben Edlund is joining the cast for a panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 21.

Edlund created the fictional superhero for a newsletter mascot as a spoof of American comic book superheros in 1986. The Tick was previously adapted as an animated series in 1994, and then as a live-action sitcom starring Patrick Warburton in 2001.

As Liz Shannon Miller wrote in her review of the Wally Pfister-directed pilot, “The Tick” takes place in “a reality where it makes perfect sense that good faces off against evil while wearing tights — but a reality where it also makes sense for Whoopi Goldberg (as herself) to host a talk show called ‘Whoop.'” (via Indiewire)

The Tick is executive produced by Edlund (Supernatural), Barry Josephson (Bones) and Barry Sonnenfeld (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events), directed by Wally Pfister (The Dark Knight), and written by Edlund. The show is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television and is surely to be a good sidekick come August 25.

Part 2 of the Amazon series will stream in early 2018. There's a total of 12 episodes to look forward to.
