Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation have just released a new Peter Rabbit trailer. The animated comedy opens in theaters on February 9, 2018.

Peter Rabbit, the adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role in his own comedy. In the film, Peter’s tensions with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalate to new and greater heights as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door ( voiced by lovely Rose Byrne). James Corden of The Late Late Show voices the character of Peter with playful spirit and wild charm, with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley performing the voice roles of the triplets, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail. The film is also voiced by Sam Neill.

"The character of Peter Rabbit is just in the fabric of growing up in the United Kingdom", Corden says. "He's such a loveable character, which owes everything to the genius of Beatrix Potter."

"The film had the blessing of the Peter Rabbit groups," he assures. "They saw that it was true to the character and the world that Beatrix built."

"The stories are so timeless, it's nice to escape to that," Robbie adds during the featurette. "[The film] is so funny, but at the core it's about being there for the people that you love."

Directed by Will Gluck, Peter Rabbit was written for the screen by Rob Lieber and Gluck. The movie is based on the characters and tales of Peter Rabbit, by Beatrix Potter.

Peter Rabbit is released on March 16, 2018.
